Non-Profits

Working with Kim Jenkins is a pleasure! She’s smart, personable, incisive, organized, technically skilled and experienced in drawing the best work out of a group of individuals. I worked with her on two different occasions and both times she was a catalyst that brought us to a very good product. Kim’s an excellent leader for any group that needs to accomplish a worthwhile goal in a reasonable amount of time.

“I was sitting across the table from Kim at an event and needed exactly what she was trying to pitch. That’s a pretty powerful return on an event like that.”

Dawn worked for me as a Senior Product manager. Dawn is the best and smartest employee I have managed in my 18 years at Microsoft. How does Dawn differentiate among the other smart people I’ve worked with at Microsoft? She has the rare ability to see the big picture, the details, the individual and business challenges while never losing sight of any of these perspectives. Dawn is a successful product and project manager because she diffuses chaos through patience and respectful, active listening. She excels in being able to collaborate and bring stakeholders, across organizations, together toward a common goal. She uses data, and common sense, to build understanding and stakeholder consensus. Most importantly, she always delivers on her commitments. In one example, Dawn took on a global project - with stakeholders across multiple organizations and time zones - that had failed under the leadership of those before her; a project with one of the lowest satisfaction scores in the organization. Over a year and a half, Dawn and her team released multiple versions of the product - each on time and on budget - and did so well they put themselves out business. In the end, the product ranked among the highest in satisfaction and saved the company tens of millions of dollars.

Public Service

In 2007 Kim Jenkins volunteered to be a member of the City of Issaquah’s first Human Services Commission. During the interview process for the commission it became obvious that she has great passion for the work of human services agencies. She brought to the commission outstanding knowledge of human services because of her role as a Loaned Executive to the United Way Campaign. Kim always was looking to do something that would really make a difference. As a Human Services Commissioner she worked tirelessly on many projects that were important, but really were not making the big difference she was looking for, until the summer of 2009 the City of Issaquah, the Human Services Commission and a private consultant began to work with the Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank to develop a strategic plan for their operations. As a volunteer at Eastside Baby Corner she had seen first hand the success they made as they recreated themselves. She worked directly with the Food and Clothing Bank to develop the plan and to help with its implementations. Kim had found a way to use her management/leadership skills to really make a difference in the human services community. As the staff liaison to Issaquah Human Services Commission I have had many opportunities to observe her gently lead groups. She makes everyone feel at ease, while making sure much is accomplished in a short period of time. Any human service agency would be extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Kim Jenkins.
